This pocket knife is an original Taschenfeitel and comes with a centuries-old manufacturing tradition. It has been manufactured manually in Trattenbach in Upper Austria for almost 600 years. The Trattenbacher Taschenfeitel is registered as an intangible cultural heritage. The turned handle is made of beech wood which is a typical used hardwood in Europe. The interestingly shaped blade is ground on both sides.

A penny knife was a very basic utility knife. The name came for what it reportedly cost in England and America during the late 18th century. Another story is that you can't give away a knife without a penny. Care instructions

Dry the blade after use if it gets wet. Do not let the blade air dry (risk of rust film!). Because the knife has a wooden handle, it is not suitable for the dishwasher. Maintain wooden handle regularly with natural oil (e.g. olive oil). Apply the oil sparingly to the handle with a soft cloth.
